About us
The Kouvola Region Federation of Municipalities was founded in 1994 by the mutual agreement of the region’s 7 municipalities. The member municipalities are Anjalankoski, Elimäki, Iitti, Jaala, Kouvola, Kuusankoski and Valkeala. The municipalities have allocated the following duties to the Federation: regional control of interests, industrial policy, general planning of regional land use, vocational and apprenticeship training and regional waste management.
The annual operational expenditure of the Federation is
ca. 25 M EUR and the number of personnel is ca. 350.
There are around 3,000 students in the region’s vocational
and apprenticeship training schemes.
