Overview
Founded in 1959, the Institute of the Hungarian Acacemy of Sciences began to produce radioactive isotopes in 1964. It then became a major Hungarian centre for the research, development and production of radioisotopes. With effect from 1993 a part of the former Institute has been operating as the Institute of Isotopes Co., Ltd. All of Isotope’s manufacturing and other activities operate in accordance with the ISO-9001 quality assurance system. The first certificate was granted in February 1998.
The company is divided into five business units:Radiopharmaceuticals, Immunoassay, Synthesis, Molecular Biology, Radiation Techniques
Our company’s main activities comprise radioisotope techniques relating to handling and formulation of all types of radioisotopes produced in nuclear reactors. Application of radionuclides takes place mostly in medical practice and life sciences.
Within this activity we can offer a wide range of immunoassay kits e.g. RIA, IRMA and ELISA kits for diagnostic and research purposes.
The radiopharmaceutical production provides wide range of products for diagnosis and therapy using the isotopes: I-125, I-131, Tl-201, Sm-153, Y-90. We produce and sell radiochemicals for labeling purposes and raw materials for radiopharmaceuticals of other producers or end-users made of isotopes:I-131, Ho-166, Lu-177
Cold kits labeled with Tc-99m radionuclide completely meet the clinical requirement for the study of renal for bone-scintigraphy and palliative treatment of painful bone metastases, for examination of the liver- and hepatobiliary system, for bloodpool-scintigraphy.
A very important line of products are the nucleotides labeled with P-32, P-33.
Above the C-14 or H-3 labeled organic compounds the custom synthesis of labeled with C-14 and H-3 radioisotopes as a service is offered for pharmaceutical companies and research labs.
Within the scope of our industrial activity we can offer Ir-192 and Co-60 radiation sources.
Design and production of radiation technology equipment and complete facilities-including auxiliary systems- are also carried out at Institute of Isotopes.
