Medical Products Packaged with Safety
Kobusch-Sengewald and Sengewald Klinikprodukte are strong partners for all manufacturers and users of medical products. In close cooperation with their customers, both sister companies develop product-specific packaging solutions. They are part of the international Pregis Corporation group.
Kobusch-Sengewald offers a wide range of rollstock products and services for packaging single use medical devices. This includes mono, coextruded and laminated films that can be tailored to the different requirements of the customer’s medical products, as well as the converting of special medical papers and Tyvek®.
These films are mostly used as peelable, thermoformable base webs to seal against (un)coated paper or Tyvek®. Softform, for example, is particularly suitable for sealing to uncoated paper, has excellent deep-drawing characteristics and an extremely soft haptic. All this makes Softform a low-cost alternative for the packaging of simple medical products. All films are sterilisable by steam, gas, irradiation or plasma, depending on the material.
Another area of business is the production of films and bags for IV solutions/infusions. An example of these is Propyflex®, a PP-based material, which can be used above all as a PVC-free alternative for IV bags. Additionally, KS offers adequate steam sterilisable overwraps.
The sister company Sengewald Klinikprodukte has established itself as a specialist for disposable sterile OR drapes and OR gowns (Secu-Drape®). It also offers complete customised OR procedure packs (Secu-Tray®), which can be assembled in accordance with the customers’ needs.
Sengewald Klinikprodukte also is a well-known manufacturer of sterile product packaging (Secu-Pack®). There is broad range of choices to fulfil the different product requirements, e.g. the economically very interesting pouches and tubes made of film/paper (Medipeel®). Various types of packaging made of Tyvek®/film (Flexopeel®, Flexotear®, Flexopor®) represent a very high quality solution, particularly for gas sterilisation. For medical devices that are sterilised by irradiation and require high-performance protection, pure film alternatives are available to provide safe universal barriers (Cleerpeel®).
