Message from the President
Toward greater customer satisfaction in our pursuit of improving the quality of life — Koken challenges the futureIn the more than 40 years since the establishment of Koken as a corporate enterprise, we have continued to expand our scope of endeavor. From early work in medical plastics, we have branched out into collagen, simulation models for medical training and, in recent years, to cosmetic science with a line of skin care products. In all of these specialties, our guiding philosophy has been “products and service based on originality and trust.”
This is why we have pursued a slow yet steady rate of growth and diversification, building on the solid foundations of each success. As Japan has now shifted from a growth economy to a mature society with an aging population, Koken is responding by shifting into its second phase of development, pursuing new paradigms of originality, flexibility and value creation.
We believe the challenges of the future present unprecedented new opportunities for further development and application of collagen in tissue engineering and gene therapy.
