KUHNKE, a technology company, develops, manufactures and sells customer specific and standard products and services consisting of electronic, solenoid and pneumatic components for the automotive, machine building and medical equipment industries. The individual companies Kuhnke Automotive, Kuhnke Automation, Kuhnke Supply Chain and Kuhnke Support – all under the legal form of GmbH & Co. KG – are responsible for these activities within their special field of activity.
KUHNKE has 980 employees at its engineering and manufacturing locations in Malente (Germany), Sibiu (Romania) and Limena (Italy) as well as in its international sales organizations. 550 of these employees are located at the company’s headquarters in Malente.
KUHNKE Automation develops and sells customer-specific mechatronic solutions for the optimization of automatic processes. Core competencies are control and positioning systems, pneumatic solutions and solenoids. Based upon broad technological expertise, KUHNKE creates world-class solutions and products which enhance customer’s competitiveness and reduce costs significantly.
Ventura, the modular control platform for automation solutions, is the central device for integration of process control- and field-level. It features EtherCAT, PROFIBUS, CAN and AS-Interface as well as standard interfaces and is custom-designed for the industrial environment. The programming system is based upon CoDeSys in line with IEC 61131. In addition KUHNKE Automation offers Condition Monitoring Systems together with engineering and maintenance services.
KUHNKE Automotive develops and sells customer-specific components and system solutions for onboard automotive applications. Focal points are solenoid technology, sensor and electronic control and visualization systems.
The solenoid technology involves triggering, switching or restraint functions, such as locking and unlocking in crash-active safety systems, gearboxes or steering column locks.
In the visualization area, camera signals are transmitted wire bound or wireless to an onboard navigation screen. The camera lens is protected by a mechanical shield against environmental influences, such as temperature, humidity or cleaning agents, and provides improved safety standards. The electronics area covers electronic control systems and
regulation of radiator fans and fuel pump motors, as well as devices for the protection of batteries on long transport.
KUHNKE Supply Chain procures, produces and assembles all parts, components and products for automotive, medical and machinery industries. Just-in-time and cost-effective production at the Malente and Sibiu plants comply with the highest quality standards.
Product launch, including process planning, ramp up of series production and prototype manufacturing is being done by the separate organization NPI (New Product Introduction). NPI is closely related to the R & D departments in Kuhnke Automation and Kuhnke Automotive companies.
KUHNKE Support provides all indirect services and activities for the Kuhnke group, including HR, IT, Finance and Quality Management.
