Lab M is a specialist in microbiological culture media. The company develops, manufactures and supplies its products from headquarters in Bury, Lancashire, UK. A network of distributors around the world provides local sales and support.
Established in 1971, Lab M has long enjoyed an international reputation for the high quality of its dehydrated culture media, and especially its range for the culture and isolation of anaerobes.
As new rapid methods have developed, Lab M has applied the same stringent quality criteria to its range of Harlequin™ chromogenic media, which includes Salmonella, Listeria and E. coli detection. The introduction of the Captivate™ immunomagnetic separation system has confirmed Lab M’s leading position, and services such as SMART QA™ have helped many customers to achieve national and international laboratory accreditation standards.
Lab M also supplies bulk peptones, extracts and other raw materials of plant and animal origin to pharmaceutical and large-scale fermentation industries, in compliance with current EDQM certification. Custom-designed and custom-blended products are also supplied.
Lab M is certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485; products designed for the clinical market are supplied in compliance with the European IVD directive and carry the CE mark.
