The company, with its headquarters in Wermelskirchen, is one of the best-known manufacturers in its sector. The brand name “Rhombus Rollen“ has stood for innovative products of the highest quality for over 100 years.
Castors and wheels for the most varied fields of use.
Around 5,000 different items come off the production line at Rhombus Rollen. The broad product range out of varied materials such as steel, plastic, cast metal and rubber offers solutions for a great variety of application fields with differing technical requirements, for example for the medical-technical sector, transport containers and vehicles, and catering trolleys in aeroplanes, as well as for institutional kitchens and restaurants and the waste disposal sector.
The most modern construction and manufacturing technologies
High-quality castors and wheels with the Rhombus brand have long been modern classics. They stand out because of their long product life and their sturdiness. The most modern technologies are used in planning and manufacturing – from “Computer Aided Design“ (CAD) through computer-supported construction up to the automated manufacturing plants of the current generation.
Rhombus Rollen places special emphasis on quality management. Through comprehensive monitoring from the raw materials to the finished product with the help of a “Computer Aided Quality System“, it is guaranteed that only flawless products leave the plant. In addition, since 1996 the company has been certified according to the ISO 9001 Standard.
More than 100 years of experience
Quality and service are a long tradition with Rhombus Rollen. The company is the oldest industrial manufacturer of wheels and castors in Europe. Founded in 1899 in Burg an der Wupper, the firm Albert Schulte Söhne GmbH & Co. first began with the production of wheels and castors for pianos. By the mid 1930s the company offered under the brand name ‘’Rhombus’’ a broad spectrum of wheels for the most varied areas of application. In the 1950s the hill-country manufacturer advanced to become one of the leaders in the sector. In 1994 the company began calling itself by its brand name, and since then has been doing business under the name of Rhombus Rollen GmbH & Co.
Success through strong partnership
In addition to the headquarters in Wermelskirchen the company has a second manufacturing plant in Malaysia. Beyond that there are branches in France, Spain and England as well as a dense network of distributors in many other countries. Besides the Federal Republic of Germany, its core markets are the EU Member States, the Asian region, especially Japan, as well as the Americas. Exports account for about 65 per cent of the company’s turnover.
