MIM of Titanium and Titanium Alloys
TiJet manufactures titanium parts by metal injection moulding (MIM). Our unique selling point is our ability to maintain the good characteristics of titanium while using MIM as a shaping technology. Our materials have a high tensile strength, a good ductility and are fully suitable for implantation. The material characteristics are comparable to conventional titanium. Only TiJet offers MIMed titanium parts suitable for implantation.
MIM combines the shaping freedom of plastic injection moulding with economic serial production of titanium parts. It is particularly suitable for precise manufacturing of complex small parts. TiJet offers the following materials: Ti6Al4V, Ti6Al7Nb and pure titanium are available. The MIM titanium parts can be finished with all standard techniques, e.g. machining, shot peening, polishing, anodizing etc. The Titanium-MIM-technology offers an enormous potential for cost savings. Furthermore new applications for titanium are possible now that the limitations of conventional production methods can be overcome.
