About us
Mechanics can be seen as the prime, and even as the original, discipline of physics. It is a huge body of knowledge about the natural world, while also constituting a central part of technology. Accordingly, mechanics plays an important role in engineering, especially in the scope of mechanical engineering.
The Chair of Mechanics offers courses at the undergraduate level as well as at the graduate level. Besides the teaching activities, fundamental and applied research is done and various engineering services are offered.
