ABIMO – Associacao Brasileira da Industria de Artigos e Equi
Established in 1962, being called, at the time, the Association of the Manufacturers of Medical and Dental Products (Associação dos Fabricantes de Produtos Médicos e Odontológicos), with 25 associates, ABIMO only operated domestically.
In 1971, the Union of the Industry of Dental, Medical and Hospital Articles and Equipment of the State of São Paulo (SINAEMO – Sindicato da Indústria de Artigos e Equipamentos Odontológicos, Médicos e Hospitalares do Estado de São Paulo) was recognized by the Ministry of Labor as the official body representing the sector. Since then, it has represented all of this corporate class, together with ABIMO.
At present, with more than 246 associated companies and managed by a Board of Directors elected by sector industry representatives, the member companies the Brazilian Association of the Industry of Medical, Dental, Hospital and Laboratory Articles and Equipment (ABIMO – Associação Brasileira da Indústria e Artigos e Equipamentos Médicos, Odontológicos, Hospitalares e de Laboratórios) are subdivided into the following sectors:
– Medical and Hospital Equipment;
– Implants and Material for Medical and Hospital Consumption;
– Odontology;
– Laboratories;
– Radiology and Image Diagnosis.
Furthermore, ABIMO, has been improving and expanding its responsibilities and the services it provides its associates with every year, increasingly acquiring a role of major economic and social relevance, both in the domestic and in the international market, given that its associates account for more than 80% of Brazilian sector sales.
