About us
The German Healthcare Export Group (GHE) looks back to 15 successful years. Established in 1991 as “Deutsche Export- Interessen- gemeinschaft Pharma, Labor, Dental und Medizintechnik” (German Export Community of Interest Pharmaceutical, Laboratory, Dental and Medical Technology), the group changed its name into German Healthcare Export Group one year later. Internationally renowned companies such as B.Braun, Eppendorf, Erka, KOB, Atmos, Martin, Dräger and Heraeus (today known as Thermo) were among the founding members. The idea was to unite companies of the German healthcare sector which especially operate in the export business. Now the GHE has got 46 members which compound from all fields of the healthcare area, apart from pharmaceutical and dental products. A large part deals in electro and medical technology, followed by consumables and commodities, physiotherapy, orthopaedics, laboratories, services and publishing products. Moreover, GHE-companies also offer products from fields such as rescue equipment, emergency medical aid, diagnostics, information and communication technology.
In total, the German Healthcare Export Group represents approximately 80 per cent of the German export volume in the sector of medical technology.
Intention and Aim
Due to its product variety and services, the GHE allocates customers a diversified portfolio of all kinds of medical needs under one single roof. For its international customers, the GHE offers a central contact point in Bonn/Germany, to which everybody interested can address him- or herself. This centre forwards the consumers’ requests to the particular member – or to the particular members when the GHE is working on mutual projects. However, the GHE does not act as a general supplier. So the clients’ advantages are obvious: Fast and professional help and consultancy – since the members continuously exchange experiences from which of course the customers benefit. From the beginning, the GHE’s aim has been to make clients’ service more effective and efficient. Customers receive an expert partner of the healthcare sector due to the pool of know how which the association unites.
Since its establishment, the GHE has been taking part in the important national and international medical fairs such as Medica and Arab Health. In order to maintain existing relationships or to establish new ones, delegation journeys are also on the agenda regularly.
