Ltd Company Objectives To apply Biomedical Engineering to provide significant improvements in the practice of clinical measurement and associated therapy, for benefit to the patient, clinician and healthcare provider. Overview Neomedix Systems Pty. Ltd. (NMS) - is a privately held Australian 'BioTechnology' company focused upon the development and clinical application of diagnostic/therapeutic devices. The company was formed in 1977 following the purchase of the business of Devices Pty Ltd from Johnson & Johnson. The current CEO of NMS, Tony Wynter also founded Devices Pty Ltd. Unlike most manufacturing businesses in the medical industry, NMS has for 15 years previous, been a successful importer/distributor of sophisticated Life Science and Clinical diagnostic equipment, including high end bedside patient monitoring and cardiac investigation products from Marquette Electronics Inc. (now GE Medical). Other manufacturers represented included Nicolet Biomedical (neurophysiology), Sensormedics Inc. and Medical Graphics Corp. (respiratory medicine) and two market leading implantable cardiac pacemaker manufacturers over this period. In the early 1980s, NMS commenced successful develop and manufacture of its own products which now dominate the Australasian market. These products are used for pre and post operative clinical assessment in Urogynaecology, Urology, Gastroenterology and Colorectal investigation. The company can demonstrate extensive experience in successful medical product development and in providing sales, marketing and end user clinical applications support. Current Activity NMS is the manufacturer of the Acquidata computerised clinical diagnostic products which it sells, markets and supports directly in Australia and New Zealand. Acquidata products have been sold to clinical sites in Europe and the USA, although generally as a result of interest following international exhibitions. Activity is being undertaken to address expansion of international sales through the appointment of exclusive distributors in both Europe and the USA. Two years of cross development has been completed (mid 2003) and the Acquidata products are now available for both Apple Macintosh (OS9 & OSX) and Microsoft Windows (2000 & XP) platforms. The products have several unique features. There is also ongoing enhancement of this product. Development is being undertaken with new techniques to meet the specific needs now emerging in urogynaecology brought about by the increasing surgical adoption of then newer sub urethral sling procedures such as TVT (Johnson & Johnson) and IVS (Tyco Heatlhcare). NMS currently also acts as the distributor for two USA based clinical and research 'gold standard' equipment manufacturers: Transonic Systems Inc: a manufacturer of high accuracy peri-vascular and extracorporeal blood flow monitoring products and AEI: manufacturer of medical gas analyzers and metabolic monitors for pulmonary function investigation and exercise performance evaluation. Partnering Opportunities NMS is a privately owned Biotechnology SME and is interested in forming on-going strategic relationships with both its core Acquidata activity and perhaps separately for the opportunities presented by product development for the Intensive (or Critical) Care Unit markets.
