Koblenz-based STABILUS GmbH is a manufacturer of hydropneumatic adjustment elements (gas springs), hydraulic vibration dampers, hydraulic door-stays, and automatic opening and closing systems for doors, trunk lids, and tailgates. The company, which was founded in Koblenz in 1934, is a multinational company with eleven manufacturing locations in eleven countries on five continents. In addition, there is a worldwide sales and service network with own distribution centers in the USA, Japan, and Singapore. With 2,800 employees, STABILUS achieved sales of 369 million euros in the year 2005/2006. Gas springs and dampers from STABILUS are used in automotive and vehicle design, as well as industrial applications. With its gas spring and hydraulic vibration damper product lines, STABILUS is the world market leader with an annual production of more than 125 million units.
