Extremely stringent clean-room production conditions must be provided for the manufacture of products for high-purity applications. The highly specialized expertise and huge investment this requires means that only a limited number of companies are able to offer clean-room plastic processing. With its state-of-the-art clean-room production in Rotkreuz, Switzerland, GEMÜ is part of this select group (Class 6 clean-room production in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14644-1 with 6 plastic injection moulding machines, together with 360 m² of Class 5 clean-room assembly in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14644-1).
In addition to medical technology products, the Rotkreuz production plant also manufactures the high-purity (HP) products of the GEMÜ Group. These are developed and produced specifically for process equipment, ultra-pure chemical supply systems and clean-water processing and distribution installations in the semiconductor industry. The use of our products and services by major players in the semiconductor industry and other demanding applications is testimony to the expertise and skills of GEMÜ Switzerland in the manufacture of high-purity plastic products.
Today, GEMÜ Switzerland can be justifiably called the ‘Headquarters of Plastics’ within the GEMÜ Group. GEMÜ Switzerland currently employs more than 80 people. A lean organizational structure guarantees the flexibility to respond rapidly to customer needs.

1981: Company established
1982: Start of production in Zug
1983: Opening of new production facilities with 5,500 m2 working area in Rotkreuz
1988: Successful entry into the semiconductor market: HP (‘High Purity’) valves and accessories for semiconductor production
1998: GEMÜ GmbH workforce reaches the 50 mark
2002: Certification to ISO 9001:2000
2003: Successful establishment of a new arm of the company: ‘GEMÜ Medical Plastics Processing Division’
2004: Plastic production in three-shift working, ensuring high availability
2005: Machinery and equipment expanded to 20 plastic injection moulding machines with locking forces between 25 and 500 tonnes
2006: GEMÜ GmbH Switzerland workforce passes the 80 mark
